Designation of Little Dunmow Neighbourhood Development Plan Area

Decision Maker: Leader of the Council

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

The Council received an application from Little Dunmow Parish Council for the designation of a Neighbourhood Area on 25 April 2021. In accordance with The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations (Amended 2015 and 2016) the application is for the whole Little Dunmow Parish area and the Council is required to designate the specified area as a neighbourhood area.

Decision:

The Leader is RESOLVED to:

1.    To designate the Parish of Little Dunmow as a Neighbourhood Development Plan Area.

2.    The Plan Area, as submitted by Little Dunmow Parish Council, should be supported and adopted as the Little Dunmow Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan Area.

Reasons for the decision:

The Parish Council has proposed that the Neighbourhood Plan Area is contiguous with the Parish Boundaries of Little Dunmow (Appendix 1). The Parish Council consider that this is the appropriate area to be designated as it is the area administered by Little Dunmow Parish Council.

As the application is for the entirety of the parish council area, with no part falling outside the parish boundary, the Council is obliged to approve the proposed "neighbourhood area" for the purposes of a neighbourhood plan. (Reg 5A (1), Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012).
