Summary of the government's minimum Accreditation standard for public museums. The Accreditation scheme is administered by Arts Council England and museums have to undergo a thorough review every 5 years to remain accredited and eligible for grants from heritage organisations. This is provides a background to the Collections Development Policy and other policy documents which will be submitted via MMWG to Cabinet 2019-20 prior to the Museum's review in 2020.
