Purpose:

In response to the public health emergency, Corona Virus (Covid-19) the Government is providing additional financial support to businesses, including:

a)     Covid-19 Additional Relief Fund 2021/2022 backdated award

b)     Business Support Grants Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant one off grants of up to £6,000

 

Decision:

RESOLVED to approve:

 

a)     the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant Policy (Appendix C)

b)     Covid 19 Additional Relief Funding (CARF)Policy (Appendix B)

 

Reasons for the decision:

Covid-19 Additional Relief Fund 2021/2022 only: the fund will be available to support those businesses affected by the pandemic, but that were ineligible for existing support linked to business rates. The Council has been given a funding of £2,413,406 to allocate to businesses.

 

Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant: the scheme provides a one-off grant to support hospitality, leisure, and accommodation businesses in recognition that the rise of the Omicron variant means that some businesses are likely to struggle over the coming weeks.  The grant is payable to businesses occupying rate paying premises and the level of the award is based on rateable value.
