Traffic Modelling to build a highway traffic model to inform the spatial strategy options for the Uttlesford Local Plan.

A robust transport evidence base must be developed in accordance with current planning guidance to support the preparation, development and examination of the Local Plan.
The preparation of the transport evidence, to include consideration of viability and deliverability of the transport interventions to enable the development of a sound Local Plan that can be adopted by the Council to successfully deliver sustainable development in the district for the next 20-30 years.

09/11/2021 - VISUM Highway Traffic Model ref: 547    Recommendations Approved

To provide a VISUM highway traffic model to inform the spatial strategy options for the emerging Uttlesford Local Plan.

A robust transport evidence base must be developed in accordance with current planning guidance to support the preparation, development and examination of the new plan. Due to the scale of the sites along the A120 corridor submitted as part of the local plan Call for Sites process, and the complexities associated with Stansted Airport growth and the M11 Junction 8 scheme the initial hybrid modelling requires more detailed VISUM modelling for the Regulation 19 stage of the local plan. The use of VISUM software will allow a more detailed assessment of the preferred spatial strategy and provide a more robust approach to support the finalisation of the Regulation 19 version of the local plan.
